British 1786 Pattern Infantry Officer’s Sword
British Napoleonic Infantry Officer’s Sword.
Scarce British 1786 Infantry Officer’s Sword – this is the fixed guard pattern that was quickly replaced with the 1796 Pattern that features a folding guard that stopped fraying of uniforms. Consequently, much fewer examples have survived. With gilt-brass hilt – wooden grip. Plain blade meaning that it could possibly be an NCO’s version. Blade length is 32 inches (38.5 inches overall).
