An original mid-19th Century British Army 1822 Pattern Infantry Officer’s Sword. With typical brass Gothic hilt and retaining the fishskin wrapping and copper twistwire. The blade has faint traces of the original etching. Comes complete with a brass and leather mounted scabbard – this is an early Victorian example as later swords were carried with a more practical steel service scabbard. Blade length is 31.5 inches (37 inches overall).
