C.WW1 British Army officer’s sword.
Good, clean example of a British 1897 Pattern Infantry Officer’s Sword – probably issued to an officer in a rifle regiment during WW1. With typical plated bowl hilt featuring the royal cypher of King George V. Fishskin and silver twistwire to the grip. Etched blade with royal cypher, strung bugle, royal coat of arms and scrolling foliage. Complete with leather field service scabbard and frog. Blade length is 32.5 inches (39 inches overall).
