1821 Pattern Light Cavalry Officer’s Sword.
British early Victorian (C.1840) 1821 Pattern Light Cavalry Officer’s Sword. With steel, three-bar hilt and fishskin and copper twistwire to the grip. Blade with lightly etched lozenge to both sides of the blade, featuring royal crown, VR cypher and victory laurel. Blade has been repaired during its lifetime – probably a combat break – still quite strong. Complete with steel scabbard. Blade length is 35 inches (41 inches overall).
