British WW1 1897 Pattern Infantry Officer’s Sword to the Inniskilling Fusiliers. With typical dumb bell hilt and grip covered in fishskin and bound with silver twistwire. Regimentally etched to the blade. The Inniskilling Fusiliers were active throughout WW1 and their battle honours and campaigns included Le Cateau – 1914, Somme 1916-18, Ypres, 1917-18, St Quentin, Hindenburg Line, France & Flanders, Macedonia, 1915–17, Landing at Helles, Gallipoli, 1915–16 and Palestine, 1917–18. Sword blade with some staining. Blade length is 32 inches (39 inches overall).
