C.1640’s English Infantry/Hunting Hanger – “Mushroom Pommel”

A rare example of an English Civil War period infantry/hunting hanger with distinctive staghorn “mushroom” pommel.  The grip is also made of finely carved staghorn.  With large grooved clam shell guard.  The blade is plain and slightly curved.  Blade length is 18.5 inches (25 inches overall).
