Rare and excellent example of a c.1720-40’s North European (probably German) horseman’s sword.  With distinctive double-lobed bilobate hilt – brass lionshead pommel and decorative dish.  Brass twistwire to the grip.  Long, double-edged and curved blade.  Fine piece.  Blade length is 34 inches (40 inches overall).
