£495.00
Late-18th Century English infantry sword.

Unusual c.1780 English infantry hanger short sword. With an early form of stirrup hilt – typical period crude hilt attachment to the pommel – similar attachments to hangers of this time are noted in Swords and Blades of the American Revoution by Neumann. The grip is made from shaped wood – probably walnut. Blade of fullered style found on English swords of the late-18th Century. Interesting and probably unique example. Blade length is 24.5 inches (29.5 inches overall).
