A very impressive and large 19th Century hammered copper shield.  Am assuming that it was a decorative feature in the style of the Arts and Crafts movement and meant to be hung on a wall (as indicated by the drilled holes around edge) of a big country house.  Well made piece.  Diameter is 22.5 inches.
