Scottish WW1 Black Watch Soldier’s Sporran. An original First World War military sporran issued to a private soldier in the famous Black Watch regiment.

An original and scarce example of a Scottish WW1 Black Watch Soldier's Sporran.  With black patent leather cantle and white metal St Andrew's cross badge to the front.  Horsehair body and tassels.  To the rear of the sporran it is marked in black paint - RH (Royal Highlanders) and the soldier's number.

Sporran maker marked to Perth, Scotland

It is also impressed with the sporran maker's name - Cattanach - Perth.  The Black Watch were based in Perth, Scotland, so it makes sense that the regiment used a local company to supply the them with military sporrans.  The sporran is in good condition throughout.  Height of the sporran is 17 inches.
