Unique Named Cameron Highlanders Snuff/Tobacco Box – Battle of Tel El Kebir (1882)
19th Century Cameron Highlanders snuff/tobacco box.
Unique and original 19th Century British Army Queen’s Own Cameron Highlanders snuff or tobacco box. The name of the owner – Piper George Kidd is carved into the box – also Tel El Kebir. This relates to the famous late-19th Century battle (1882) between forces of the British Army and renegade soldiers of the Egyptian Army. Piper Kidd was likely to have been present at the battle and it would take a little research to confirm this as the Cameron Highlanders were definitely involved in the battle. In excellent condition. Dimensions are 3.25 inches x 1.75 inches.
