Unusual French Model 1866 Chassepot Bayonet Short Sword

An unusual French Model 1866 Chassepot bayonet that has been professionally converted into a short sword – probably for a band or military related organisation.  Wity chromed hilt and blade.  No scabbard.  Blade length is 22.5 inches (27.5 inches overall).
