Vintage painting – British Grenadier – 18th Century.
A “Grenadier, 34th Foot, 1751”, head and shoulders study of a George III Grenadier in mitre cap with musket painted by Cecil Constant Philip Lawson (1880-1967) – pen, ink, watercolour and bodycolour, framed under glass. Cecil C P Lawson was the son of Beatrix Whistler’s sister Constance (1854-1929) and the painter Cecil Gordon Lawson (1849-1882). Dimensions (including frame) are 7.25 inches x 4 inches.
