An unusual British 1822 Pattern Infantry Officer’s Sword to an officer in the 33rd (Duke of Wellington) Regiment of Foot.  The sword was made by Wilkinson Sword but pre-dates 1855 when they started numbering their blades.  Is regimentally etched to the blade and also contains the elaborate family crest – from initial research (from Fairbairn’s Crests of the Families of Great Britain and Ireland) the crest represents the Davies family of Wales.  A sword definitely worthy of further research.  With typical gilt-brass Gothic hilt (missing rear folding guard).  Blade in good condition.  Complete with worn scabbard.  Blade length is 33 inches (39 inches overall).
