C.WW1 Imperial German Beer Stein – Named to Commander – 135th Infantry Regiment
Imperial German military beer stein – named.
Excellent condition Imperial German ceramic beer stein – named to an “Oberleutnant Kommallein”. My research has shown that an Oberstleutenant (equivalent to Lieutenant-Colonel) Kommallein became commanding officer of the 135th (3rd Lotharingian) Infantry Regiment in 1918. This stein was produced when Kommallein was Oberleutnant and in an artillery regiment (9th) is engraved with his name to the pewter stein lid – there are also engraved and intertwined letters to the top. Maker marked to the bottom. Height is 10 inches.
