SKU: 8305 Category:

Rare late-19th Century English brass and copper bicycle bugle – used by cyclists to warn pedestrians and provide signalling within bicycle clubs before the introduction of traditional bells and horns.  They were designed to fit into a cyclist’s pocket hence the small size.  Please note that this is not a military bugle as it is far too small and impractical to be used as one.  The distinctive oval shape of the end of the bugle is also consistent with bicycle bugles of that period – military bugles tend to have a spherical end.  Dimensions are 6.5 inches x 4 inches.
