British c.1900’s 1827 Pattern Rifle Officer’s Sword

A complete example of a British Army rifle officer’s sword from the reign of King Edward VII (1902-1910).  With typical steel hilt and strung bugle rifle regiment motif inset in a cartouche.  The grip is bound with fishskin and this is bound with steel twistwire.  The blade is lightly etched (difficult to photograph but all there) with a range of motifs, including royal crown, cypher, strung bugle and scrolling foliage.  Comes complete with correct leather field service scabbard and frog.

Condition of the Sword

Blade with staining – some knocks to the scabbard chape – slight kink at end of blade.

Specifications of the Sword

Blade length is 32 inches (38 inches overall).
