A scarce British 19th Century 14th Hussars Officer’s Sword

A rarely encountered British 19th Century 14th King’s Hussars Officer’s Dress Sword.  Of levee type and probably carried for use in ceremonial and social occasions.  With a superbly etched blade featuring the owner’s initials – FIR(?) and family crest.  Also has the regimental motif and numbering of the regiment and scrolling foliage.  Numerous battle honours to both sides of the blade.  Maker marked to Pillin of London to the blade forte.  Wooden grip with bound twistwire.  Complete with scabbard.  A sword worthy of further research.

Condition of the Sword

In good overall condition – would originally have been wrapped with fishskin.  Bend to blade and scabbard near end.

Specifications of the Sword

Blade length is 32 inches (37.5 inches overall.
