British Royal Marine 18th Century Spontoon-Boarding Pike

1770-naval-boarding-pike-2

Rare English c.1790’s Royal Marine/Infantry Sargeant’s Spontoon-Boarding Pike

This is a particularly rare example of a British Napoleonic military partizan/spontoon that would have been carried by a Royal Marine or infantry sergeant and was used on the battlefield as both a weapon and symbol for rallying troops.  With fine, spear-pointed blade. Complete with original haft. A very scarce piece of English Napoleonic military history and seldom seen.

Condition of the Spontoon-Boarding Pike

In very good condition for its age and with pleasing age patina to head.  All solid with no movement.

Specifications of the Spontoon-Boarding Pike

Total length is 47.5 inches.
