A fine British Victorian 1897 Pattern Infantry Officer’s Sword – 4th Royal Fusiliers
A British 1897 Pattern Infantry officer’s sword named to P. B. Akroyd of the 4th Royal Fusiliers. This sword was manufactured by Wilkinson and sold to Percy Bayly Akroyd in 1898. Have not researched the officer too much but he was still serving in 1914. The sword is of very fine quality and comprises a crisply etched blade with the owner’s initials, royal coat of arms, cypher and crown. The sword comes with original steel scabbard and copy of the Wilkinson ledger entry etc.
Condition of the Sword
In excellent condition – blade is particularly fine.
Specifications of the Sword
Blade length is 32.5 inches (39 inches overall).
