An original French Model 1866 Chassepot Bayonet – St Etienne Maker
This is a French 19th Century military bayonet with ribbed brass grips and plain blade maker marked to St Etienne and dated to August 1872. Comes complete with steel scabbard. Rare matching numbers to hilt crossguard and top of scabbard.
Condition of the Bayonet
In good condition with some wear to hilt and scabbard – clean blade.
Specifications of the Bayonet
Blade length is 23 inches (27.5 inches overall).
