A large and unique C.1750 Scottish Highlander’s Staghorn Dirk
A good and unusual example of a C.1750 Scottish Highlander’s Staghorn Dirk. This is a substantial piece and comprises a staghorn grip with iron hilt mounts and typical Scottish dirk blade with notched grooves to the spine of the blade. The blade is of large proportions and made for combat. This style of knife was also used in Europe at this time but this example has all the hallmarks of a Scottish piece.
