british-army-variant-1921-kukri-2

A super rare British Nepalese Gurkha Kukri Variant

This is an extremely rare and seldom seen military kukri that was issued to British Army Gurkha troops and has a number of unusual features that are not found on standard military kukris.  This includes a grip of machete-type and a hand forged blade with no notch or fuller.  The blade shows numerous hammer marks from the hand forging.  The blade is marked COI ↑ 1921 I.  No scabbard.  To see another example in a reference book, please go to: British and Commonwealth Knives by Ron Flook (1999), pages 196-197 – images below.

Condition of the Kukri

In good condition – note that the wear to the blade is caused by the handmade/handforging of the blade – is a feature of this unusual kukri.

Specifications of the Kukri

Blade length is 12.5 inches (17 inches overall).
