Antique/Vintage African Kongo Nkisi Fetish Figure

A scarce antique/vintage African Kongo Nkisi fetish figure.  A Kongo Nkisi is a sacred power figure created by the Kongo peoples of Central Africa. Acting as a spiritual vessel, it is activated by a ritual specialist (nganga) using medicinal and magical substances (bilongo) to enforce justice, heal the sick, and seal oaths.  With distinctive appearance of multiple nails driven into the painted wooden figure bound together with a thick cord.  Height is 12 inches.
