An unusual British 19th Century 1827 Pattern Rifle Volunteer Officer’s Sword
This is a rare example in that it features a gilt covered hilt as opposed to the usual plain steel or plated hilt. It was probably a personal request from the owner and would have been an impressive dress sword. With superbly etched blade in minty condition. Includes royal cypher, scrolling foliage and volunteer rifles motif.
Condition of the Sword
With light wear to the gilded hilt.
Specifications of the Sword
Blade length is 32 inches (37 inches overall).
