British Napoleonic 1796 Pattern Cavalry Trooper's Sword
A good example of a British Napoleonic 1796 Pattern Cavalry Trooper's Sword of typical form. With steel stirrup hilt and ribbed leather grip with traces of original steel twistwire. Blade is of large proportions with curved profile and hachet point. Engraved to blade spine with JJ Runkell - German Napoleonic blade importer.
Condition of the Sword
Some loss of leather near pommel - blade with commensurate age staining.
Specifications of the Sword
Blade length is 33.5 inches (38 inches overall).
