A scarce and original British Napoleonic Grenadier Officer’s Sword
This is a rarely encountered British Napoleonic Grenadier officer’s sword from the early 1800’s. It comprises a lionshead hilt with ivory grip bound with brass twistwire. The forward guard has a flaming grenade to the underside. The blade is extensively etched and includes royal coat of arms, royal cypher of King George III, standing officer, victory laurels and foliage. The sword comes complete with its original brass and tooled leather mounted scabbard.
Condition of the Sword
Blade with wear – heavy towards the tip. Scabbard has old repair. One scabbard ring missing.

Blade length is 30 inches (35 inches overall).
