A good example of a French Model 1882 Infantry Officer’s Sword
This is the infantry sword model that superceded the 1845/55 model and comprises a nickel-plated, four-bar hilt with a horn and silver twistwire wrapped grip. The nickel-plated blade is dated 1910 to the forte. Hilt retains a rarely encountered black leather sword knot. Complete with the original nickel-plated scabbard.
Condition of the Sword
In good overall condition with minor loss to the blade and scabbard. Few chips to the top of grip.
Specifications of the Sword
Blade length is 35.5 inches (40 inches overall).
