A good example of a US WW2 True Temper Military Machete and Scabbard. With distinctive black composite riveted grip. The blade is deeply stamped with the following words - "True Temper TT 18 B 1943" and a "US" to the side. It retains much of the original blueing to the blade and comes complete with its original and scarce brown leather scabbard. These swords were issued to regular US Army soldiers and also US Navy Marines and were used throughout the fighting in the Pacific War.
Early WW2 leather scabbard
Most scabbards encountered in the market tend to be made from canvas or some kind of composite material so I would guess that this is an early war example. Leather scabbard with some scored numbering - soldier's number? Blade length is 18 inches (23 inches overall).
