African Late-19th Century Tribal Dagger

An original African Late-19th Century Tribal Dagger – possibly into the 20th Century.  Of distinctive form and comprising a carved wooden hilt and leaf-shaped blade that has numerous lines cut into the metal.  The blade is double-edged and very sharp.  The dagger comes complete with its original leather mounted scabbard that has patterned tooling to the centre.  Condition of the dagger is very good and it has a very clean blade.

Probably of Central African origin

Is of a type and form that is noted in Central African tribes, particularly in the Congo region.  Both hilt and blade are solid with no movement – an attractive set for the collector of genuine African tribal edged weapons.  Blade length is 9.5 inches (13.5 inches overall).
